Church of St George
White-stone parish church on the highest point of the Old Town peninsula, with sea views from the churchyard.
Why it's worth it
The parish church of St George (Župna crkva sv. Jurja) sits on top of the Old Town peninsula and is visible from almost everywhere in Primošten. According to the tourist board, the present three-aisled church of white stone dates from 1760, replacing earlier buildings on the same site.
The climb through the lanes is part of the experience; at the top, the churchyard and the surrounding cemetery open onto views over the sea, the islands and the Raduča beaches.
It is an active parish church, so visits should respect services and the quiet of the cemetery.
