Primošten Old Town

The historic village on a former islet, now a peninsula: narrow stone lanes, a church on the top and sea on every side.

Why it's worth it

Primošten's Old Town (Staro selo, "the old village") grew on a small islet that was later joined to the mainland. Today it is a compact peninsula of stone houses and stepped alleys, crowned by the parish church of St George and ringed by a waterfront walk. It is the heart of a stay in Primošten: wander up through the lanes to the church, come back down to Rudina square, and finish with a loop around the shore. Views open up in every direction, and from across the water at Mala Raduča the whole town looks like a postcard. The Tourist Board publishes a step-by-step walking map that strings the main sights together.
