Trogir Old Town
A compact medieval town on a small island between the mainland and Čiovo, UNESCO-listed, with the cathedral of St Lawrence at its heart; an easy day trip south of Primošten.
Exact location not yet verified. Use the Google Maps search.
Why it's worth it
Trogir's old town fills a small island linked by bridges to the mainland and to the island of Čiovo. Within its walls is one of the best-preserved Romanesque and Renaissance townscapes on the Adriatic, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List: narrow lanes, palaces, a loggia and the cathedral of St Lawrence with its famous carved portal.
It is small enough to explore in a few hours: walk the lanes, see the cathedral (the map marker points to it), climb the bell tower if open, and finish on the wide waterfront promenade with its cafés and moored boats.
Trogir lies between Primošten and Split, so it combines well with the airport, Split or the beaches of Čiovo.
